In June 2019 and it’s time for Urban Dives annual International Dive trip. This year we were bursting to explore Nosybe Madagascar, what a good choice! We have about forty referenced dive sites and are always constantly looking for new sites to offer.
Located in the Sakatia channel and off Sakatia and Nosy Be Islands, this protected area has the advantage that it offers very easy diving conditions: no current, no waves, These dives are dedicated to provide macro and underwater architecture different trays off Sakatia and Nosy Be. Coral pinnacle, various corals, lots of macro, huge turtles and of course the highlight of the trip was spotting the “Seahorses”
We stayed at the Vanilla Hotel, with breathtaking views, great rooms and the staff are super friendly. The hotel provided everything so most days we chose to just chill at the hotel pool side overlooking the dreamy ocean. Our tourist day we visited Tanikely and Nosy Kombo Islands, Nosy means Island and got to spend the day feeding the Lemurs and interacting with the Islands local animals, this was followed by another lazy day on the beach and snorkelling with turtles and an array of fish life on Nosy Kombo.
Another non diving day Sakalava Dive charter organised a private island lunch followed by another sunny day on the beach and snorkelling in luke warm waters, this was the perfect day for our kids and once again with spectacular views. Everything about Madagascar that was promised was delivered, this is definitely a destination that will stay on Urban Dives radar for future international trips.
