WHAT IS MARICO OOG

Marico oog is an inland dive site, the Farm Grootfontein where Marico Oog is situated is between Lichtenburg and Ventersdorp and about 3 hour drive from Johannesburg, towards the North West province. There is a 30km gravel road before you reach the entrance on the left. The Oog is a freshwater spring surrounded by reeds and covered with water lilies inside the protected area. Camping grounds are surrounded by lush grassy areas with communal bathrooms. This is a self-sufficient weekend as no shops are close by.
