The Protea banks is a reef about 7 km off the shore of South Africa near Margate. the reef lies at a depth of between 27 and 40 meters, being 6km long and 800m wide. Protea Banks is one of the richest tuna grounds in the world, which is one of the main reason why there are so many Zambezi Sharks patrolling the reef.
Great place for adults and children to learn to swim from scratch. Impressed, thank you.
Excellent dive shop and amazing swim school to learn how to swim. Can highly recommend it.
WOW what a top 5 Star diving school this one is… Absolutely the best training team. Dave & Amber are so dedicated, patient, caring and always making sure you are happy, comfortable and safe. I really can’t rave enough about them, they made the course fun, interesting & there was always laughter. I highly recommend them for any Diving level requirements, whether you are starting up or are looking for a refresher or any advanced courses, they are definitely the people to go to.
Stunning morning dives in order to take advantage of the best sea conditions. Coffee and breakfast is served daily in their restaurant.
They use rubber ducks (zodiacs/ribs) with a maximum of 10 divers, a dive master and skipper on the boat to access the Aliwal Shoal Dive Sites. The ride out to sea is around 7km from the Mkomazi River mouth which takes about 10-15mins.
